What are the BMX World Championships?
The UCI BMX World Championships stand alongside the BMX Supercross World Cup as the sport’s premier competition.
Unlike the World Cup, which is an international racing series held at several locations throughout the year, the World Championships are held just once a year, with the winner of each event crowned BMX Cycling World Champion.
The event sees riders compete in four main categories, with Elite and Junior races for both men and women.

WC BMX 2024 Rock Hill
Come and take a look at the UCI WC BMX @Glasgow! Cheer for our national heroes such as Niek Kimmann (world champion 2015) and Laura Smulders (bronze Olympics London) and enjoy the international stars as well! Besides the thrilling BMX races, you can also visit the urban festival and enjoy side events such as the Pumptracks, a bike expo and various activities for kids.
During the BMX World Championships Nantes about 3.500 BMX-riders will compete. In multiple categories riders, from 8-year-olds up to masters, will battle to win the world title. All races will be held at the BMX track Rock Hill. Because of the diversity in ages and classes, a 5 meter starting ramp is built. In most (younger) categories riders will start from the 5 meter ramp, the elite classes use the 9 meter starting ramp.
